Do you teach mathematics or mathemagics?

Kelly Clark                                                  teachmathemagics@aol.com

I am a proven energetic educator that possesses teaching strategies which are effective, innovative, and lend themselves to “today’s” students.  I have a wide-range of experience and background in education as a high school math teacher, as an online instructor for a technical college, and as a course writer for a virtual school.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.

In my tenure as a teacher, I have had numerous accomplishments that include: Teacher of the Month (October 2008), raising $1000 for a school club, being featured in the local newspaper, and being selected to lead a calculator-based seminar for the school district.

I also have extensive experience as a conference presenter.  I recently spoke at the Georgia Council Teacher’s of Mathematics (GCTM) state conference in October of 2008 on “Math in Music: Using Elements from Pop Culture in Math Class”.  Not only was my session at a maximum attendance, I was also asked to present the information at future conferences.

If you have an interest having me speak to your school or math department, I would be pleased to hear from you.
What I have to offer is more than just
"another professional development workshop";
it is a contagious passion for teaching!
The presentations I have available at this time are:
  • Pop Culture in the Classroom: Music and Movies
  • Pop Culture in the Classroom: Music and Movies in the Math Classroom
  • What's in Your Bag of Tricks? Using Diffierentiation for ALL students
