The goal of PopMatics is threefold:
· Create a series of content-specific resource book for
educators
o The first resource book will be PopMatics: Creating a
Generation of Mathematics!
o Other books in the series will be Language Arts/Reading,
Science, and History.
o Additional resource books will be developed for non-core
content areas.
· Create a network of educators who believe in the
PopMatics pedagogy with the goal of:
o Fostering collaboration
o Offering professional development conferences at the
local, regional, national level as well as virtually.
· Create PopMatics math clubs in schools to increase math
comprehension by:
o Offering free tutoring/support to struggling students
o Facilitating the creation math musical parodies (which will
utilize essential math vocabulary and terminology while
increasing student appreciation of mathematics) and other
PopMatics entities
